Random Thought - Crimson Fists Power Armor

With the re-building of the Chapter, and the loss of a lot of equipment (Marines, Power Armor, Vehicles, etc...); Would their be a large portion of Marines that have the newer style of Power Armor?
I am rethinking my list to include more scouts and less Tactical Marines. The reasoning behind this is that it takes a while to rebuild and the Chapter will want to give the new recruits as much "trigger time" as possible while keeping them protected.

1 - Tactical Squad
4 - Scout Squads
1 - Sternguard Squad (Deathwatch Minis or combination)
1 - Shooty Dred
1 - Razorback or Land Raider or Vindicator (No Whirlwind, the CF have a healthy respect and heatred for missiles now)

I need 1850 points so time to crunch the numbers.

  1. I'm debating starting a CF army after my IGuard is finished up and my idea was to go for the scout heavy list as well, including scout bikers. Infiltrate+scout+bikes+pfist/meltabombs = dead stationary vehicle on turn 1, plus plenty of options for sternguard droppodding near the enemy lines either with or without Pedro.

  2. I've heard a lot of people saying that Scouts are very fluffy in a Fist army for exactly the reasons you mentioned.

On the other hand, the Rynn's World Incident was sufficiently far back in the fluff that at least a few of the Tactical Companies would have been rebuilt to some level of strength, so power armoured marines wouldn't be much of a rarity.

Really, you can do whatever you'd like and have it work out. Crimson Fists are a pretty cool chapter.

  3. If you have a large number of older pieces of armour you could justify it as parts sourced from other Chapters until they have enough of their own.
